1) Uncontested Divorcé: Joint Petition
NRS 125.010, 125.181, 125.182: This is used when both parties agree to all the divorce terms and will sign the divorce papers; all signatures must be notarized.

2) Complaint for Divorce: One side divorce
NRS 125.010, 125.020, 125.030, 125.123: This is used when the other party is unwilling to sign the Nevada Divorce papers; must have Defendant’s correct address to serve “Summons” and “Complaint for Divorce ”.
These cases take about: 20 days waiting period for Answer + 10-20 days Court process + 20 days Judge process = total about 70-90 days, depending on the service and case.

The Nevada Law has no jurisdiction over out of state’s children’s custody, property or Defendant. The Nevada Court only has jurisdiction over the following subject matter: “divorce matters: (i.e. adjudge a Decree of Divorce to you.)
If you have children or property in a state other than Nevada, the divorce terms for child custody, child support and property must be settled in its respective home state.


3) Publication Divorce:
NRS 125.010, 125.020, 125.030, 125.123: This is used when the other party disappears (in U.S. or overseas), hides to avoid being served, can not be served or can not be located.
These cases take about: 7-20 days application for Publication for Divorce + 5 weeks publication + 20 days waiting period for Answer + 10-25 days process = 80-120 days.
